Upgrade Forum CMS SMF

Forum online CMS dengan OSS SMF ternyata nyaman digunakan dan memudahkan admin dalam maintenance-nya. Kemarin sore saya mengupgrade Forum SMF CMS tempat saya bekerja (YBHK) dari versi 1.1.2 ke versi 1.1.3, yang merupakan versi terbaru saat ini. Ternyata tidak membutuhkan waktu terlalu lama untuk melakukannya.

Saya hanya perlu melakukan langkah-langkah berikut ini:

Download source update SMF dari situs resminya. Pilih source untuk kategori small update. Format yang bisa dipilih adalah zip, tar.gz, dan tar.bz2. Saya pilih yang tar.gz.
Ekstrak source download tersebut pada komputer.
Upload source hasil ekstraksi ke root direktori web server untuk domain kantor saya menggunakan software favorit FTP Client, Filezilla. Dan jika ada konfirmasi untuk menimpa file sebelumnya, pilih OK.
Setelah selesai upload semua file, tinggal arahkan browser dengan URL http://nama-domain-forum/upgrade.php
Ikuti petunjuk yang diberikan.
Setelah selesai upgrade, hapus file upgrade.php pada root direktori forum.

Silahkan perbaiki database SMF dengan menggunakan phpMyAdmin yang biasanya disertakan dalam hosting. Ada fasilitas untuk memperbaiki database kok..
